Congratulations Nicolò!

On April 14, 2026, Nicolò Spigariol, a member of our Nano4GEA research group and R&D scientist at Cheers2life, successfully defended his PhD thesis in Science and Technology of Bio and Nanomaterials at the Università Ca' Foscari Venezia, followed by Prof. Elisa Moretti (supervisor) and Dr. Stefano Meneghetti (co-supervisor).
The project stems from an industrial doctorate built with a clear goal: develop new materials starting from waste and by-products, concretely applying the principles of the circular economy in the manufacturing sectors, with particular attention to automotive and agri-food.

Concrete results have been achieved in the research process:
-
development of a recyclable thermo-acoustic material for the automotive sector;
-
new materials with reduced plastic content thanks to the enhancement of wine lees;
-
analysis of the potential of emerging nanotechnologies for future applications, especially in the energy sector.
A work made possible also thanks to the collaboration with various local realities - So.La.Is, Serena Wines 1881, Colortech, Guberti SpA and Nadir Plasma & Polymers - which have contributed to the project through funding, technical support and sharing of skills.
For us, this result confirms a simple belief: supporting research means creating value over time. This is also why we choose to invest in doctoral scholarships, offering young talents the opportunity to train at a high level and build their own professional career.
